The lodge blends luxury, authenticity, and heartfelt hospitality in a way few places match; my bush break at Mukwa was wonderful, with the owners and team’s passion evident from the start. The property is stunning, immaculately maintained, beautifully designed, and set against breathtaking Zambezi River views, with unforgettable sunsets. The itinerary, planned on site, balanced exciting activities and restful downtime, and the lodge offered a spa, gym, wine cellar, and charming gift shop—all thoughtfully curated. Highlights included daily boat cruises with wildlife sightings guided by Current and Alan, and a cooking class on traditional Zambian cuisine led by skilled chefs Mike and Royd; the food throughout was exceptional. Staying past check‑out didn’t ease leaving, but I’m convinced a return will cure the nostalgia.

The location is absolutely stunning, with a fantastic kitchen that's a real highlight. The staff are incredibly friendly and provide top-notch service, making you feel right at home. They also offer some fun extra activities to keep things interesting. The only downside is that the room itself is a bit small, but it's clean and comfortable, and the location more than makes up for it.

This place is absolute perfection. The decor is so beautiful, it feels like you're in a dream world. I was lucky enough to get an upgrade and my room was enormous - bigger than my house back in California. The mini bar, outdoor shower, plunge pool, and fresh ice delivered twice a day by the staff made me feel like royalty. I've been on a lot of safaris in Africa, but this one takes the cake.

This place is a real gem, tucked away in a stunning location right on the river. The serene atmosphere and breathtaking views make it the perfect spot to unwind, and the rooms are seriously impressive - spacious, clean, and with everything you need. The staff are top-notch, friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and the food is top quality, with a great selection of local dishes.
