“Nice stay”
The place was clean and the staff were friendly, but the last room at the end of the corridor had bad internet.

The room was large, clean, had no TV, and it was warm inside. The bathroom fan didn’t work.

Beware. The shower has flimsy rounded doors that aren’t solid glass, with no way to grab or hold onto them on the very small, slick floor. Management says they can’t add tread strips or other safety features because of Icelandic sanitation law, but that turned out to be false. As soon as I stepped into the shower after checking the water temperature, the floor’s slickness made me fall backwards, hitting the radiator sink pipes and the floor. The bathroom is tiny. I ended up with a cut over six inches on my right lower leg and both knees from falling against the radiator sink and floor. The leg required tight overlapping bandaging for more than two weeks; otherwise, it would have bled heavily each day. On top of that, the electric kettle was defective and leaked all over the desk on the first night while we were asleep. The water flooded the desk, ruined my Apple mouse, maps, itineraries, camera, laptop, and more. This was our first night’s stay in Iceland! Management had to clean up blood and bloody towels for two days and provide extra bandages, costing us over two precious sightseeing hours. Their only comment was that accidents happen and “Icelandic law” says they can’t protect guests by texturing the shower floor. They showed zero care or concern except for a young man on duty who knew what had happened but had no authority. If you stay there, be extremely careful not to get injured by the shower floor or anything else wrong, because from personal experience they do not care except for money. Iceland is wonderful! All our other hotel stays were fabulous for the rest of the three weeks, but if you stay here, please pray you stay safe! The shower stall is dangerously unsafe. No fixed glass on the shower. Rounded flimsy doors that you can’t hold on to. No grab bars, shower mats, tread, texture, etc. on the extremely slick wet shower floor. Possible defective tea kettle. No concern for your safety or wellbeing! They claim Icelandic law can’t provide any of these as a sanitation law, which is untrue. They were appalled when they saw my injuries and heard what happened! Even more so to the hotel’s response: “Accidents Happen.”

The staff were wonderful and the location was great. All good.

The rooms are large and there’s a capsule coffee machine. Breakfast was nothing special but okay. The restaurant was unfortunately closed, and there was nothing else in the village. However, there was a discount at the recommended restaurant in the neighboring town.
