The service was excellent, and the surrounding nature was quiet. The spa water was cool, there was no coordinator to tailor a retreat program for you, and you had to choose from general classes and procedures yourself.

The property offers amazing scenic views, the staff’s expertise, professionalism, and genuine care were outstanding, the treatments were simply excellent, the food was Michelin‑star quality, and the team’s extreme attention to every guest need while respecting privacy was remarkable—thank you.

We were told to wait 30 minutes for check‑in because only one staff member was available, and after we intervened we asked to be shown to our rooms and to have a later check‑in, which thankfully happened. The two rooms we booked were assigned incorrectly – we figured that out from the preferences we had set when reserving. Moreover, despite pre‑booking massages, the spa front desk had no clear picture of our schedule; we had a better view of it ourselves from the printed and mobile confirmations. At one appointment they called us half an hour early, making us rush for the treatment for no reason. I also recall that we never asked the woman in our party whether she preferred a male or female therapist, which was a serious oversight. This was our third visit to the retreat and it fell short of the expectations set by earlier trips; I hope it was a one‑off, but we left genuinely disappointed. The service in the restaurant, room service, and housekeeping was, as always, excellent. ===REVIEW 8<|message|>Nothing at all. The place is worse than a guesthouse – you have to lay out the futon yourself, the washlet doesn’t work, the outdoor toilet is unusable, the interior is cluttered, and even though the ground floor faces the parking lot there’s no screen door or curtains. The food was mediocre, and we paid ¥68,000 for three people with nothing good to show for it; we would have been better off staying at a guesthouse.
