Great hotel, very convenient for our Cotswold walk. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Decent food and drinks too

The front‑desk staff was exceptionally pleasant and charming, and they also helped us at dinner and breakfast. Everything else was fine.

The beds were comfortable. The shower curtain hung the wrong way—too far into the tub—so it took up half the width when the shower was on. Our waitress at dinner was not friendly at all and seemed annoyed to seat us and take our order.

Only hotel near the Cotswold Trail. Rooms are the typical hotel style. The shower was hot and powerful. Ate in the restaurant for dinner and it was OK. Breakfast was very good for the extra £12.50. It included the continental side, the usual yogurt, fruit, cereal, and toast, plus a cooked portion: I had eggs Benedict, which was excellent, and my husband had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Perfect meal to start our hike for the day. The room wasn’t the cleanest; carpeting and bathroom showed age. It’s the only hotel in Painswick, so we didn’t really have a choice for accommodations.
