The owner was relaxed and respectful toward everyone; when my UPI failed at checkout he just smiled, said it was okay, and wished me a good trip, trusting me to pay later. The only downside was that the cook wasn’t around, so breakfast was the only option on site.

The place offers good value and sits in a quiet spot. The lack of a reception made finding the owner a bit of a hassle, and at night there was no hot water—shower only worked in the morning and evening.

A hostel in a beautiful setting at a great price, with a host who is warm and helpful in every situation and arranged trips and taxis for us at excellent rates. Thanks a lot, Karma! If I ever go to Ladakh, I’ll definitely stay at Karma House again. The bathroom could have been cleaned a bit more often, but it was still acceptable.
