We stayed in a wonderful historic house tucked inside a lovely garden surrounded by vineyards; the hosts and their dogs greeted us warmly and gave us a tour of their special home. The room was huge, authentically decorated, and opened directly onto the veranda, garden, and pool. We savored a tasty home‑cooked dinner and an excellent continental breakfast, and the hosts shared valuable history, advice, and insights about New Zealand.
