The rooms are spacious, spotless, and the beds are comfy with working mosquito nets and quiet fans. The outdoor area with hammocks and soft evening lighting is a real highlight, and you can spot more wildlife in the trees than in the main park – toucans, squirrels, monkeys, parrots. Mary and the team are super helpful, arranging tours and catering to requests.

The staff are genuinely kind and welcoming, but the house sits 600‑700 meters off the main road on a rough path that's a pain with backpacks. The shower is a real issue – the tap outside barely works, so you can't really rinse off. It's pretty remote, and if you need a 4x4 taxi, that adds extra cost. The 10‑star rating feels misleading, and overall the experience feels overpriced for what you get.
