On the other hand, I have to praise the breakfast. The selection was good, and gluten-free baked goods were readily available, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the first impression of Hotel Domenichino was not good at all. Upon our arrival around 8:00 PM—exhausted from a long journey—it wasn't immediately clear if the reception was even staffed. The receptionist was calmly working on his computer and ignored us for a moment, leading us to wonder if we were in the wrong place or should go elsewhere. Eventually, he got up and began checking us in. Although we had pre-paid for a double room with breakfast and separate beds for two people, the receptionist claimed the reservation was for only one person and that we would have to pay extra for the second guest's breakfast. An unpleasant argument ensued, involving us showing him the reservation confirmation. Only then did he locate the printed order in his file, realize everything had been paid for correctly, and simply state, "All right." There was no apology for the mistake or the delay. At breakfast the next day, we overheard other guests dealing with a similar issue regarding the breakfast surcharge. I don't know if this is intentional or if the hotel simply has a chaotic reservation system, but it certainly doesn't look professional and does nothing to inspire confidence. The condition of the room also left something to be desired. There was a bucket placed under the bathroom sink because, whenever the water was turned on, some of it dripped from the drain directly into the bucket. This is a defect that should have been fixed long ago rather than being handled with a makeshift solution. Overall, the hotel did not live up to expectations. If more attention were paid to reception organization, reservation management, and room maintenance, the stay could have been much more pleasant. The biggest disappointment was the unprofessional communication at check-in and evident issues with reservation records
