The setting is gorgeous, the historic building is stunning, and the spa is a highlight. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good.

The Parador de Santo Estevo, a 10th-century Benedictine Monastery, is a luxury hotel transformed from a historic site. This chic hotel boasts a fabulous spa, beautiful central courtyard, and elegant rooms with river views. Regional cuisine is served in the fine dining room. The hotel features three original Baroque, Romanesque, and Renaissance cloisters, gardens, and a riverside location in the Ribiera Sacra region.

Overall, the monastery is spectacular. The rooms feel a bit austere and not very cozy.

An exceptional building in a truly wonderful setting. The building is a tranquil, spacious maze of history on a steep valley side in a natural forest. There are windows of view over the Sil valley. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and relaxing. Lovely walks from the Parador, through the woods with hardly a soul around

Everything is excellent: the spa, the facilities, the food, and the theatrical tour.

The service is great. However, the room‑service charge felt too expensive.
