The air‑conditioning was missing; during summer days it was quite noticeable.

I would not recommend this property to anyone. My husband went to the hotel in person, accompanied by a colleague, to check room availability. The front‑desk staff told him that booking and payment could only be done through Booking, and did not mention any mandatory additional steps, pre‑check‑in registration, the impossibility of obtaining keys without it, or extra fees. Since my husband does not use Booking, I booked and paid with my bank card from my account. After payment we immediately sent the booking confirmation to the hotel, expecting normal check‑in. Only after the money was received did we learn that we needed to complete mandatory electronic registration, meet extra requirements, and pay an additional 50 € to get the keys. Nobody warned us about this before payment, even though my husband was physically at the desk and the staff could have explained the process earlier. Consequently we were denied check‑in, the hotel refused to refund, and no reasonable solution was offered. The person left without paid accommodation and had to scramble for another hotel. The staff’s attitude was especially disappointing. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the employee refused to help, did not call the manager or a responsible person, offered no conflict‑resolution options, and effectively ended the dialogue. I consider this practice unfair to guests. If electronic registration and additional mandatory payments are required for check‑in, they must be clearly and unequivocally warned about before payment, especially when a potential guest is physically at the front desk asking questions.

The only thing about this apartment that’s actually good is its location—just steps from St. Elizabeth’s Cathedral (the photos suggested a view of the cathedral, but the window actually looks onto a courtyard). Apart from that, it was one of the worst stays I’ve ever had through a booking site. The listing didn’t match reality and the owner tried to talk his way out of problems instead of fixing them. The description mentioned a balcony, yet there was none—just a French window with a railing. A fan was also listed as an amenity, but none was in the room; outside it was about 35 °C and the apartment was unbearably hot. The owner’s communication was absurd: first he claimed the fan was in the closet, then said it probably wasn’t there, then promised to bring it the next day even though we only had a one‑night stay, and finally said the fan had been broken by previous guests. He also falsely claimed that Slovak TV channels were unavailable because of a set‑top‑box replacement; a November 2025 review complained of the same issue—only eight foreign‑language channels. It’s July 2026, and the misinformation continues. He even joked that we could use the time to learn Chinese or French. Other drawbacks: the ventilation in the bathroom rattled loudly all night, making sleep impossible; the towel was torn; there was only one small towel for two people; the toilet seat was smaller than the bowl and kept shifting; the €50 deposit paid via an external site was only returned after I chased it, not automatically as promised. If it hadn’t started raining in the evening, we would have left immediately; the rain finally cooled the air enough to breathe. Without a fan, sleeping there was impossible. The next morning I faced a serious medical procedure and the last thing I needed was to deal with a misleading listing and an irresponsible host. I tried to resolve it through the booking platform, which sent a request to the owner, but he refused any compensation. I cannot recommend this place at all.

The location was very good and overall pretty decent. Because my vision isn’t great, I couldn’t punch the crazy code into the lock in the dim light, and at night the receptionist downstairs could have handed me the keys instead.
