“I would highly recommend Alikele Resort to anyone planning to explore the Sigiriya area.”

We were aiming to hit every major spot in three days, so we chose Alikele Resort because it sits close to Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, Pidurangala, Somawathiya, and Polonnaruwa and still kept costs down. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help with our plans. We stayed two nights, and on the second day we had to leave at a very early hour. Usually we skip breakfast at other hotels because it starts late, but when we told the staff we needed something earlier, they kindly made breakfast for us before we left—an unexpected and appreciated gesture. For a price like that, the place was solid; we didn’t need to spend much time at the hotel, but the facilities were decent overall, with a nice pool that my child loved. The weather was hot, yet the resort felt relaxed and pleasant. We had intended to eat around town, but the first‑day breakfast was so good that we also had dinner there; local restaurants were pricey. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the resort delivered good value. Many nearby resorts seem geared toward foreign tourists, but as a local traveler I felt very welcome. The only downsides were a non‑working Dialog TV, a missing charger, a shower that needed improvement, a non‑functional AC swing, and a bit of cleaning that could be better. Fixing those small issues would make the room even better value.

The place is quiet and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Sirgiya. Everything is close to a Tuk‑Tuk, the pool is very clean, the rooms are spacious, and the breakfasts are impressive—highly recommended! Thanks, :)

The place was deserted, dirty, and there was a bad smell in the entrance when we arrived. We left right away.

“Si no hubiera sido por la gentileza del staff la estancia no hubiera merecido la pena.”

The staff are very attentive and try to solve any problem you have. On the first night the rooms had a terrible naphthalene smell, which gave me a sore throat the next morning, but the next day they changed my room.
