With four of us, this was the largest room we could find in New York. We liked the location because it was easy to walk to different spots and reach the subway. The staff didn’t tell us about all the amenities, so the online photos were misleading. We had to keep asking for female‑only amenities. When the bed was turned down, the floor wasn’t cleaned at all.

Balcony bed. For $500 it felt motel‑ish. The curtain was ripped, the sink was damaged, water clogged. The shower water had a bad smell and leaked onto the floor.

The location was great, but the loud air‑conditioner made it hard to relax. On the balcony I could only stand and stare at the uncomfortable back courtyard, and we kept the curtains drawn all the time for privacy.

The staff were friendly, polite, and responded quickly to every question, but everything else fell short of my expectations and the hotel’s description. The hotel has two buildings, and we weren’t told which one we’d be in; we ended up in a building that hadn’t been renovated, had no nice reception area, and no toilet on the first floor. The balcony was dirty with a broken chair, the towels were filthy until I asked for replacements, and the reception photos for my building were completely inaccurate. Water was only supplied on the first day; the rest of the stay there were no extra water or coffee in the room. So before checking in, it’s essential to confirm which building you’ll be assigned to.
