“Ceentral location, rooms need updating”
The central location was great. The first room had black mould on the ceiling above the bed, so we asked to be moved. The staff were offended, claimed it wasn’t there before we arrived, and reluctantly moved us to a smaller room with other problems: the bathroom window was locked and there was no extractor fan. They wouldn’t give us the key to open the window and insisted there was an extractor fan, which wasn’t true (see photo). The key to our room also opened the adjacent room, which we entered by mistake; when we told reception, they said it was strange and that was it. They weren’t interested. The wardrobe was antique with only one very low drawer at the bottom, so we had to leave clothes in suitcases.
The staff were rude and the apartment was filthy, with no toiletries provided. The location was nice, but the place itself was unhygienic and dirty.
The room was spacious, and we appreciated the extra towels in the closet since there was no regular towel change. It was clean, had a great bathtub with hot water, and the location was superb. However, there were no daily cleaning services, extra trash bags, or coffee. There was no welcome page in the room, so we had to ask the reception for the Wi‑Fi code, and the staff at Pucic Palace were standoffish and unhelpful.
“Adequate”
The spot was spot‑on in old town Dubrovnik, but finding the room was a hassle and the receptionist seemed annoyed, muttering and making snide comments that everyone could hear. The AC broke, so we slept in 28 °C all night and only got a fix the next day, which left us with barely any rest.
The location was great, but the staff at PUCIC hotel were unhelpful, rude, and didn’t give us any orientation to the room. We didn’t receive a welcome letter and had no assistance getting to Polici gate; the front‑desk person simply asked, “what do you want me to do?”
