We absolutely enjoyed our stay; the cottage exceeded our expectations 🙌 It was so peaceful and quiet. Teresa and Bruce were very welcoming, and it’s not far from shops and Opononi, so we’d definitely stay again. We were traveling with our 4‑year‑old autistic son, so warming up food at midnight was a bit of a hassle because the kitchen and bathroom were separate, but we managed just fine.

The host was fantastic, laid‑back, and made my family and me feel very welcome. The cottage room was perfect for my husband, me, and our two children; we didn’t need to book two rooms because the Rose Cottage had everything we needed. The facilities were exceptionally clean. The shower and toilet area felt a bit cramped for getting dressed and storing all my toiletries, but it didn’t significantly affect our stay. It was still super lovely and very clean, with plenty of towels, soaps, and hair products.

It feels like a little Garden of Eden. The owners were lovely to chat with. The rooms were very comfortable and every need was met. Even a small cat named Taco came to pat.

The architecture is original and the spot is charming. The cottage was spotless, the shared kitchen was usable and well-equipped. It’s a very quiet place. I liked the meticulously tended, original garden. The gentleman was welcoming and kind.

The accommodation was beautiful and comfortable, providing everything you’d need for a holiday. We were disappointed we couldn’t stay longer! The hosts were genuinely friendly and helpful.
