The setting is gorgeous with night‑time views, cloud‑sea vistas and lake scenery, all wrapped by mountains, plus two paths leading to the World Peace Tower and the massive Shiva statue – absolutely fantastic, I loved it 💕

I went solo with two kids and the place is a bit removed from Pokhara Town’s bustle; it takes about 15 minutes by car to the caves and 25 minutes to the town. Pokhara feels more touristy now, but Raniban retreat offered quiet moments and sunrise views of Annapurna 2 and other peaks. Evening views were breathtaking, overlooking the whole town and its lake. Breakfast and dinner were solid, the chef seemed to have trained abroad, and the staff were attentive and open to feedback. The mountain‑view chalets were stunning. The first room had a bed that smelled awful—damp and uncomfortable for the kids, so we had to use towels, but the hotel swapped us rooms the next morning after we mentioned it.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the views were amazing—mountains and a sweep over Pokhara. The menu was limited if you chose the set menu, so I’d stick to the regular menu. The hotel entrance needs improvement; taxis didn’t like it.

The hotel is very beautiful and authentic, perched on a hill with the mirror‑like surface of Phewa Lake, cozy city streets, and the Himalayas on the horizon right before your eyes. It smells of history and Nepal, but the main architect is nature itself. In the evening, when the stars light up and the city below glitters like fireflies, you realize what true happiness feels like. I recommend it to anyone looking for more than a place to sleep—a place of power.
