“Very good homestay”

I found the room spacious, bright, clean, and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and the hot shower had amazing water pressure. A floor‑standing fan was available, but the night was cool enough that I didn’t need it. The Wi‑Fi worked well. Breakfast was fabulous, especially the pancakes with four different fruits. The restaurant across the road was good. The homestay sits on a busy main road, so traffic noise can be an issue if you’re sensitive. Watch out for the toilet’s cleaning water jet – its pressure is more like an industrial power washer and could damage sensitive areas or spray brown residue all over the shower. Be very careful!

The family running this place is SO NICE! The pancakes were the best I’ve had in Indonesia too 🤤 They helped us with transportation and went above and beyond! The room was very clear, spacious, with a comfortable bed and an ideal location!

“Goed restaurant en eenvoudig”

There was an excellent restaurant across the street. Everything else was clean and tidy. The breakfast was fine. The road is still pretty busy, but it doesn’t really bother you.

“Alojamiento básico con desayuno”

The room was comfortable, with a good mattress, clean linens, and the price was very fair. Breakfast was included – pancakes with fruit and coffee/tea. You can walk to the town; there’s a restaurant right in front. The bathroom was quite dirty, and there was a lot of noise from the road right in front of the house from the first hour of the morning. There was no Wi‑Fi and we had no coverage.

“Good budget option”

This small town attracts tourists who want to do sunrise tours to the volcano. There are limited options in town and, by Indonesian standards, everything is expensive. This is a good budget stay in town. The room is large, with a desk and a fan. There’s a private bathroom attached to the room. The host’s English is basic, but he helped me rent a scooter from his friend and arrange a shared car to Maumere. Breakfast was good – standard pancakes with fresh fruit, and a great variety of fruit compared to most I’ve had in the country. The accommodation is at the top of a steep hill, so trucks grind up and down in low gear all night. There are lots of ants in the bathroom, but they’re harmless; just eat outside to avoid them in the room. The bedding and toilet were clean, the floor swept, but the rest was budget accommodation clean.
