I’m of average height, so the mirrors were too high to see myself. There were no water glasses and no extra pillow.

The kitchen and living room were clean. I booked a double room, but by the time I arrived all other rooms were already taken, leaving only the twin‑bed room downstairs. Be aware that this is essentially an empty house with individual rooms let out; you have no idea who else will be there or when they’ll need entry. Other guests locked the front door, and then another couple staying in the house couldn’t get in. Clearly no one knew who was staying in the house. Room numbers and an occupancy list would help so that rooms aren’t assigned on a first‑come, first‑served basis regardless of what you paid for!

The common areas were outstanding, fully equipped, and there was complimentary coffee in the cupboards—apparently left by earlier guests. I was in a solo room, yet it felt almost better to lie on the floor; the mattress was almost paper‑thin, and every movement made the frame creak as if it might collapse. For a place that charges as much as most hotels, this was hugely disappointing and eclipsed everything else.

Everything was spotless and the bed was comfy, and the location was decent. I paid for a private bathroom but never received one, and no refund was issued even though the private‑bathroom room stayed empty. There was no prior notice that a photo of a driver’s licence or passport was required to enter; it was demanded on the day or entry was denied. Another guest with a valid booking was accused of being there illegally because he didn’t have his licence on hand, threatened with police, and had to find a new place at 10 pm.
