A simple and very affordable stay in a well‑preserved historic Söderköpingshus from the 1700s. The lovely breakfast in the nearby Brunnshotellet’s beautiful setting was a perfect combination.

We were rebooked to Villa Lagberg, also part of Söderköpings Brunn, and we were very happy about that. There we received a large, nicely renovated room with a comfortable bed, sofa, and a private bathroom/shower. We were also able to check in earlier because it rained heavily. Breakfast was excellent, and the dog could sit at the table in a special area of Söderköpings Brunn. We are very satisfied :)

Breakfast was a ten‑point star. The only downside was that we weren’t better informed that check‑in was not at the accommodation.

The city is great, and the tourist offerings are solid, but the Mangelgården hostel is pricey for a dorm room.

The location is nice and the hostel feels safe, but I booked a room with a private entrance and bathroom and ended up on the second floor with a shared bathroom and a corridor through common areas. The room had a sink, but the bathroom was shared, and the room wasn’t numbered on the building’s exterior, so I couldn’t find it without asking the reception at Söderköpings brunn. They handled it well by giving me a new room in an annex.
