“Could’ve been great if all amenities were actually available. Failing that, at least a good handling of the issue.”
The property itself was mostly fine and well‑designed, except for the missing tumble dryer that was advertised and a key reason we booked. When we mentioned it, we were first told the washing machine had a dryer function, which it didn’t. We raised the issue again and were told it had been escalated, but no alternative drying solution was offered before checkout. After we left, the owners confirmed in writing that the tumble dryer was an advertised amenity and had been unavailable, yet they refused to give any partial refund. The real problem was not just the missing dryer but how the situation was handled after we reported it.
“Lovely little place”
The tiny place was clean, tidy, quirky, and in a good spot. A welcome pack with local facility info, heating and hot water instructions, and rubbish disposal directions would have helped, as would some wash‑up cloths and newer, larger bath towels, but overall it was brilliant.
“Good getaway”
The cottage had excellent decor. I would have liked the dining room to serve as the sitting area instead, as it’s larger, lighter, and more pleasant. No café on site.
I liked the quirky vibe and ambience, but basic supplies like a small bottle of milk, tea bags, coffee, sugar, kitchen paper, extra towels, and bin bags were missing.
“Beautiful location but let down by a few things”
The place was big and in a good spot, with pretty decor and a nice outdoor area. The ceilings were too low, so my tall husband almost hit the door frames several times; I wish that had been mentioned in the listing. The house needed a deep clean—there was dust everywhere, stained lounge chairs, towels with bleach marks, and stains on the bed throws. It was a bit disappointing. Also, a manual would help, especially for hot water; I had to text the owner early one morning because “hive” was down, and it took an hour for my message to send due to poor phone signal, leaving us waiting for showers without hot water.
