“Overall would recommend, just felt the door not locking kept me on edge for night”
The staff were very friendly and the room was clean—no complaints about anyone I met. The door lock didn’t work.

The location is great, but the hotel is pricey. The bed was so high that I had to literally climb into it; I’m 5ft 1. It was very cold, especially in the bathroom, and the noise from the bar directly below made relaxing and sleeping impossible until late. We should have known about the beer festival in the bar that night. There were no blinds in the bathroom, and windows on the opposite building made me uncomfortable; the bedroom curtains wouldn’t shut either. The decor is tired, definitely not worth the £144 a night we paid.

We had a great stay and excellent food. Modern is always better, but it didn’t disturb us.

The bar and food were great, with an interesting menu and a wide selection of beer and whiskey, and the staff were friendly. The location was excellent and the bike storage was safe, but the room felt tired and lacked USB sockets.

In a quiet Scottish village I found a small gem that lets tourists enjoy good food both evening and morning, and afterward you can still enjoy fine Scottish beers and whiskies. If you want to play well‑maintained darts, this place welcomes you too. It was a top surprise I found out of necessity. Those used to German lighting, electrical, and sanitary installations will unfortunately be somewhat disappointed, but everything is still lovingly and stylishly furnished.
