“A bit spenny, but worth it :)”
The location is fantastic—just a 2‑minute walk to the bottom of the Sakka Slopes, right next to the far side of Happo‑One. The bus to Tsugaike also departs from the base of Sakka, which is super convenient. I appreciated that Koharu offered a van to pick you up from either the station or the bus stop, as long as you let them know in advance. It’s also handy that they can accept your ski gear ahead of time if you ship it to them. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful. For the price we paid, I’d have expected the linens to be changed daily, but otherwise everything was great.
“Disappointing.”
The room was nice and comfortable, and the location was quite good. The staff tried to be polite and helpful, but they lacked real hospitality experience and couldn’t match Japanese standards. They failed to organize the shuttle transfers for us twice, forcing us to wait a long time. Rooms were not cleaned most of the time; only towels were replaced and basic cleaning was done. For the price we paid—more than S$1,200 per night—I expected much more.
