I booked Hotel Riad from August 21 to September 4, but the stay turned into a nightmare that forced me to leave on August 31, five days early. Even though I paid for the full 14 nights, I could not tolerate the conditions. The bathroom sink leaked continuously, soaking the floor every time I brushed my teeth or washed my face. The room smelled foul and, at 28 °C, had no air conditioning or even an electric fan. Noise was relentless: loud music and shouting outside made sleep impossible. The owner’s mother and younger brother ran the place and were extremely rude and hostile whenever I raised concerns. The stress and mental distress ruined my holiday. I paid in full for 14 nights but abandoned the last five to protect my well‑being. I urge a thorough investigation and a full or partial refund for the unfulfilled days. This place is unfit for guests.

When we arrived, the lady at the so‑called riad said they had no rooms; I told her we’d booked two months ago. She gave us a room with no amenities, no shower, and no toiletware. When I mentioned we’d booked a room with all those, she said they didn’t have one for us and called her son, the manager, who told me to cancel because he wasn’t responsible for the app and there was another person handling it. I said I wouldn’t cancel and wanted my room; he said I should resolve the issue with the app’s person. He had a bazaar in the old city and told me to cancel, but I refused. He promised two days for another room, which he transferred to us. After two days we were asked to pay the tax without receiving the proper room. When we escalated, they gave us a second room, which had a shower but no toilet, so whenever my wife or I needed a toilet we had to use a shared one—my wife is hijabi, so that was very inconvenient. The room was dirty, had no hot water in the shower, and the neighboring building had a CCTV camera pointed at our room. The terrace was falsely advertised as a small patio overlooking the old city; the place had a strong smoking smell, which was inconvenient. We were expected to clean the rooms because they had no cleaning lady. I had asked before confirming whether they had a kitchen or kitchenware; they replied yes, but nothing was available when we arrived.
