The spot isn’t bad, the rooms are spacious and there are plenty of cafés nearby; our child loved the pool and felt fine afterwards, the bathroom stocked daily toothbrushes and paste, and there’s a kitchen nook in the room though we didn’t need dishes for our ten‑day Phu Quoc trip, we only stayed four days before heading back to Thailand. However, the staff didn’t speak English except the senior manager, the breakfast was cheap and tasteless with bland sausage, an egg and three cucumber slices, and there was no tea or coffee in the room; we booked two rooms for our family of four but were placed on different floors, making it awkward to move between them, and the offered room swap after two days still left us far apart. The hotel looked nothing like the pictures, feeling more like a shared cottage with people visible on first‑floor beds, and the whole island seemed to lack service, with construction and trash everywhere. The nearby beach was okay but the adjacent abandoned hotel looked like a post‑apocalyptic set. The worst part was when my husband swam in the sea later in the day and came up covered in something that seemed like sewage, probably due to a daytime discharge; overall, it’s okay for a cheap winter stay if you don’t mind the service level, the sea is warmer than in Thailand, the food is varied and cheap, and the shakes are great, but you have to be prepared for these conditions.
