The room was very clean, comfortable, homely, and well equipped. Breakfast was continental‑style, left in the fridge each day. The landlady was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful when I had a travel‑related issue. No suggestions. I have no mobility issues, but there isn’t a lift and the stairs are steep, though well lit with handrails; people who find stairs difficult should check first.

The room looked stunning, and breakfast was refreshed daily in the room, with cleaning and bed made each time. Hostess Sue was a delight and offered solid local tips. Nothing could have been better.

The location was excellent and the staff were wonderful. We only stayed one night after coming from London for the Brighton Triathlon, and everything we needed was just above a lovely old pub. If I compete again next year, I’ll book here again.
