“Overpriced pretend luxury”
Pretty decor. Overall, the beach is nice, however, without disclaimer or warning, excavator came out several days during our stay and proceeds to move rocks around, digging up dirt and dust 5 feet from lounges. No courtesy at all from hotel to give warning. Site doesn’t indicate construction interruptions in progress. The property has nice restaurants, but 3 of them are in the 16 and over tower. This is annoying as even 15 year old teens, well behaved and dressed well are not allowed - why?! For all inclusive doesn’t make sense to have people with teens be excluded from 3 of 5 restaurants. Pool areas are beautiful and staff at the pool and beach areas are the best! Housekeeping is very good. Room was advertised as having sea views. We were assigned bottom floor and zero sea view. The room was also in tower 5, which is 10min trolley ride away from ocean access. So, we had no view and no easy beach access. Restaurants upcharge for dishes even with all inclusive. The worst was Karuma, where you pay upcharege on top of all inclusive and still get limited options to order. The pressure to tip extra at all places is very high. Super unpleasant experience with everyone showing clearly that included tip is not adequate for the staff. Why say tips are included when everyone expects another 15%??? Highly unpleasant, feels like you’re being sold something all the time. Spaces are empty - terra Luna area, all restaurants, hookah bar, rooftop bars - empty each night for 7 nights. Not sure where the people are but it feels dead and boring at the resort. Spa has ridiculous prices. Over $300 US for 80 min massage. There’s a strong push to buy timeshare and it takes away from vacation and relaxation. It just always feels like you’re there for people to feast money off of you. Bad weird vibe
