How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
The staff were very pleasant, and when we arrived with sunburns they gave us cream and aloe vera. It’s very close to the train line; at 6 am trains start passing and it’s impossible to sleep. Though the hotel isn’t to blame, bed bugs bit us and I had to take antihistamines.

Good location, friendly staff, cleaned twice a week, tasty food at the restaurant, and you can rent a bike at a good price from a staff member. A 3 % card commission was not mentioned beforehand, and sometimes the electricity goes off—common in Sri Lanka, but auxiliary power sources would help.

Central location near main roads and the beach, which is a 5‑7 min walk; the bus station is 10 min away and many tuk‑tuks are around to take you somewhere. We liked the view from our window and even spotted some rare monkeys playing, which was fun. For some reason all the doors are glass/tinted/see‑through, so the rooms never feel dark or private; even at night hallway lights or other rooms leak light through the door. The picture was taken at 06:00 am, and the whole hotel is very loud—not from trains or traffic, but from poor acoustics; everything is tiled and echoes. Multiple guests had long conversations at 06:45 am each day, waking us up.

The location is perfect, but the room had no AC, which is not recommended. The staff were helpful.

We booked 3 rooms and stayed for 3 nights and the hotel was okay, operated by very friendly staff. The rooms were clean on check-in and the open bathroom/shower was nice to use. The location was a bit far from the town however was less than 5 mins walk to the beach so still accessible and had an external beach area ran by a partnering venue. Breakfast was decent and had fresh juice, tea and coffee, a bread basket and different egg options (fried, omelette etc). - The beds were uncomfortable for me personally as they were too hard and the pillows were flat (could provide 2) - There could be minor improvements to make the hotel feel more elevated, like changing the bedding colour or redecorating and also the duvet was a thin sheet. - There was no turndown service which is fine but towels were only given on request. - The bathroom window was slightly open (I believe permanently) which meant bugs could enter. - Only 1 plug socket in the room but an extension cable was provided
