Nature Lover's Inn

The area and Kalametyia overall are very quiet. Walking you quickly reach the beach, which is very clean and where only a few people are found. The family running the accommodation is very warm and attentive. The mother speaks English well enough to communicate. For all more complicated matters and questions, you can communicate via WhatsApp with the son, who studies in Colombo and was not present during my stay. I wasn’t entirely enthusiastic about that at first, but it really worked well. I was also treated to a good price by the host and took a cooking class with her, which I recommend. On the day of my departure, the father kindly gave me a ride in his tuk‑tuk to the next bus stop, where he waited with me for the right bus and ensured the bus driver knew where I had to get off. Simply mega kind :)

We were thrilled with our time at Nature Lover's Inn, where the hosts greeted us warmly and went out of their way to help. The Sri Lankan restaurant served food that was both delicious and fresh. We enjoyed a lively afternoon in the garden and a cooking class held in a specially‑made traditional house on the property. The hosts also organized several local tours for us. The morning bird‑watching boat trip was fantastic, with a guide who really knew his birds. We spotted baby turtles heading down the beach at Rewaka Turtle Watch, and the visit to the Mulgirigala ancient rock temple was an amazing bonus.
