“L'apparenza inganna”
The front desk and bar staff were excellent and knowledgeable. The pool was large and beautiful, overlooking the Garfagnana and the town of Barga. Overall, the resort was well furnished and above average. The spa, however, was abandoned and completely without staff. Some parts of the resort were neglected and not clean. Breakfast was awful: watery scrambled eggs, bland, chemical fruit juice, soggy cappuccino, supermarket cold cuts and salmon, discount yogurt, and the waitresses were rude, chatting loudly about personal matters. Most seriously, without any prior notice at booking, we were subjected to a massive influx of Indian families celebrating a traditional wedding that lasted three days. We guests were practically “ghettosized.” The hotel became a chaos of screaming children running up the stairs and adults in flashy clothes shouting from morning till night.
