The value for money was great, perfect for tight budgets that don't want a hostel or dorms. Six courtyard rooms, quiet, almost 5 km from the city center, up the hill after the more institutional neighborhoods, you’ll be immersed in local life with the permanent market of fruit, vegetables, fish… on the main street (Cermin) that leads to the guest house. About 10 minutes from the airport, and the noise isn’t noticeable despite the proximity. The room was basic and a bit cramped, but clean and spacious enough (with storage, drying racks…), decent bedding, and a nice terrace. Water, coffee, tea, and a fridge were provided. Good air‑conditioning and Wi‑Fi. The bathroom had lukewarm water and low pressure but you get used to it. The host was friendly, discreet but available (he dropped us off early at the airport). For shopping, beaches, and arranging excursions, it’s better to have a scooter (the guest house doesn’t rent one) or take a Grab motorbike.

Nice. Smell, dirty, and a grave in the courtyard. Horror. It’s hard to find anything worthwhile in this place. The caretaker was unhappy that someone was looking at him and pulled him away from washing the car. The owner was rude. It was dirty. Mold and cancer‑causing black paint on cracked walls and ceilings. The surroundings were awful. Trash, single flip‑flops, and construction tools were everywhere. We might have stayed, but the blankets without covers made it feel like someone had slept in them before. And not just one. In the courtyard next to the property, there was a grave. Quiet, not intrusive, but still uncomfortable to sleep near a cemetery. The owner said if we didn’t like it we could leave. So we left.

Comfortable mattress. Poor cleaning, the bathroom had no sink, we weren’t given towels. The floor was dirty, wall paint was peeling. The comforters were stained.

The owner is a scammer; he didn’t even welcome us and blamed us for not looking for him. We tried calling and texting him on WhatsApp, but his number was inactive and so was the message. I think I’m not the only victim. I feel ashamed as an Indonesian who came here with three foreigners and got that kind of bad treatment. The cruel owner had a bad temper and was tricky. He took the money and kicked us out without a welcome. I’m upset because I recommended Labuan Bajo to foreign tourists and this happened. People here treat local and foreign tourists differently, and some drivers still scammed tourists. That’s it. We ordered and paid for two rooms for one night but got no room, no welcome, and even got bad treatment. Never ever book this guest house, even if you’re desperate for a room. If you can find another alternative, do it. I hope nobody experiences this worse thing like we did or anyone before us.
