The room is clean and has everything needed for sleeping, and access to the building and the room is simple via a mobile app, and when there was a problem, they responded to the message immediately. The room is located below ground level, the window faces the sidewalk, there is no blanket or duvet, and there is mold on the walls.

The room was in a basement, which was not mentioned in the description (the Italian note only said “MEZZANINO INTERNO,” meaning a mezzanine on a high‑ceiling ground floor). The humidity, darkness, lack of reception, and the fact that access codes were sent via WhatsApp after an online questionnaire and payment of the tourist tax made the procedure long in front of the building’s door. No phone response. The four‑day stay ended after two days when we found another place, with no refund offered.

The location. The experience was very disappointing, hard to justify by its price and rating. I’ve stayed in many places booked through Booking, but this was one of the worst. The first impression wasn’t great. The accommodation is in a sort of semi‑basement and has no reception, which shouldn’t be a problem if the access system were more intuitive and worked properly. Right after the stairs, there was a noticeable damp smell. Inside the room, the smell seemed to disappear and the stay felt comfortable; we slept well the first night and thought there would be no major issues. Everything changed when it started raining in Rome. From the second day, the damp odor became truly unpleasant and persistent, lasting all day even with continuous ventilation, and it soaked into clothes and hair. This was undoubtedly the most negative aspect of our stay and significantly affected our city experience. The rest wasn’t as peaceful as expected. The access system is confusing for first‑time guests. Without reception, many seem to not know how to enter and repeatedly ring the front doorbell, sometimes from 9 am, until a neighbor or another guest comes out to explain. To access, you must find a Booking message with a link to a web app, from which you’re supposed to open the portal, the accommodation door, and the room with three different buttons.

The space isn’t huge, but it’s well laid out, so overall it feels harmonious.
