“More short term emergency and permanent accommodation than a holiday place to stay.”
The location was handy for the venue we were heading to, yet the place felt like a ghost town – everything else was in rough shape. We could barely sleep there, but at least we had a microwave and plates, though no utensils made it pretty sad. The money spent on upgrading doors to electronic code locks would have been better used on repairs and paint. Even if they were worried about theft and didn’t provide utensils, at least they could have left disposable bamboo ones or put a standard compendium in the room – there was nothing at all to tell us what was available.
“A budget motel overtaken by urban development with budget motel pricing.”
The bed was comfy, but the shower stall needed a deep clean and overall cleanliness was lacking. The outer door wasn’t locked at night, so there was street access to the corridors, though nothing bad happened. The free Wi‑Fi option wasn’t offered at the front desk.
“Adequate”
It was good value, clean and tidy, with a super comfy bed, working air‑con and TV, and a microwave that surprised me. I only needed a place to crash each night for 5 nights during a conference, and it did the job. The location was convenient to the conference and a short, flat walk from Oakleigh Train Station. The downside was that being on Dandenong Road meant hearing traffic into the wee hours; I’d heard reviews saying the motel was quiet and inside it was indeed very quiet, but the road noise outside was loud enough to keep me awake. If traffic noise bothers you, ask for a room at the back or avoid it and stay elsewhere.
“Fair but can improve with eating utensils”
The location was good, but they didn’t give you any eating utensils.
“Don't judge the book by the cover. Doesn't look much but very comfortable inside.”
The interior was very clean and comfy, but there was no Wi‑Fi and the signage was terrible.
