The bed was very comfortable and the room spotless. The owner was lovely and I’d definitely return. The only drawback was its proximity to the beach.

The location was great, just a 10‑minute walk to the beach. Breakfast was fantastic, and Lyndon was a funny, perfect host. There were no issues, as long as you’re patient and understanding you get everything you want.

The bathroom was acceptable. The building’s exterior was dull and uninviting, not the guest house I had expected. The entrance hall smelled, carpets were dirty, and doors and handrail were very grubby. The room itself was fine, with clean bed linen and towels, and a clean bathroom. However, the carpet was subpar and walls had many marks. Room amenities were adequate—a small fridge, kettle, etc.

The location was great for Barry Island and the Welsh Coast Path, and the breakfast chef was friendly and handled my allergy well, though I was surprised to find a fridge hidden in the wardrobe that hadn’t been mentioned.
