Our stay was amazing; the room was ready before the check‑in time, we enjoyed a great Sunday lunch and breakfast that was all piping hot, and a huge thank you to everyone at the Red Lion. Plenty of free parking is available at the rear of the property, and we didn’t dislike anything.

We had a warm and hearty stay at the Red Lion in East Bergholt, greeted by incredibly friendly staff that set a great tone from the start. Free parking is conveniently located at the rear of the pub, making arrival stress‑free. Our room was spacious with a large, exceptionally comfortable bed; the bathroom was well‑stocked with toiletries and the shower was fantastic and hot. We had to ask reception to change our towels and turn on the heating, but the staff handled both requests quickly and politely. The highlight was the dining: the Full English breakfast was fantastic and cooked to perfection, and on our last night I had a great steak while my partner enjoyed a brilliant gluten‑free fish and chips, thanks to a separate fryer that ensures the food is gluten free. We would definitely stay again for the wonderful hospitality and excellent food. The only issues were that we had to request towel changes and heating to be turned on.

I stayed in a lovely, large room with beams and a separate sitting area; dinner in the pub was good and the breakfast selection was exceptional. The area was very quiet, with a big car park at the back. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and there was nothing to complain about.
