The staff greeted us warmly and were always ready to help, and the breakfast spread was generous with fresh items. The hotel sits in a leafy area a little off the main hustle, which made the night surprisingly quiet and relaxing. The only thing that bothered us was the lack of a bidet – as Italians we’re pretty used to having one, so it felt odd.

We loved the view from the terrace and our balcony, it really made the stay pleasant. Unfortunately the building shows its age and the service felt very distant – almost no room service at all. The staff only responded when we ran out of toilet paper, and even then they just tossed the duvet back on the bed. Towels stayed damp because of the rain and were never swapped, and the mattress was as worn‑out and saggy as the rest of the rooms.

Our room on the second floor was clean and cozy, with a beautiful lake view that we could also enjoy from the terrace while having a hearty breakfast of sweet and savory items. The surrounding area was quiet enough for walking the dog, and the beach (no loungers) was just a 15‑minute walk or a quick three‑minute drive away. Free parking was a nice bonus.

The location and the view over Faaker Lake were truly spectacular – that part of the stay was flawless. Inside, however, room 14 fell short: we found spider webs around the balcony door, and the 2 × 2 m mattress had a deep dip at the head end that made sleeping uncomfortable; the staff never noticed it, so we had to turn the mattress ourselves with limited result. The bathroom vent didn’t work either, and overall the furnishings feel old‑fashioned.

The view and surroundings are gorgeous, and the staff are genuinely friendly. The hotel is just a short walk to the beach, where you can get in for free with a card. On the downside, the bathroom is tiny and looks very dated, with no extractor fan, and the lovely terrace is practically off‑limits because of wasps – a few traps would have helped.
