The hotel feels very cozy, with two pools, plenty of loungers, and only about 10 m from our room to the beach; the staff made the biggest impression—Antony in particular went above and beyond. We booked two separate four‑person rooms, one sea‑view and one cheaper, but arrived to find the property empty and were upgraded for free to a second sea‑view room right next to the first. We dined half the days at the hotel and half elsewhere (mostly Nirukthie Beach Resort), and Antony would check in on us, offering any dinner we wanted—from lobster and crab to shrimp and curry, even sourcing missing items from the market and cooking them. As for kitesurfing, that was a main reason we chose this part of Sri Lanka; we visited in July, got wind on 15 of the 17 days, mostly blowing along the shore. Most kitesurfers launch from the spit, but I set off right from the hotel beach, which is narrow and makes a classic launch tricky; my wife would pull the kite into the water while I retrieved it from the ocean side. On one weekend noisy local groups showed up at the hotel; although staff usually ask them to quiet down by 23:00, a few stayed late and played music. We had to shout at them once, after which they moved farther down the beach and apologized the next morning.
