It’s close to the beach and to the ferry. The hot water didn’t work, the ceiling was mouldy, and the shower towels weren’t washed properly.

It’s near the harbor. The room was old and poorly cleaned; the bathroom had a strong sewage smell, the fixtures were rusted, and the fridge wasn’t cleaned (had mold). When we left the bungalow the fridge also turned off. The outdoor area was unkempt, with bags of empty bottles and plastic. We stayed in bungalow 7 for three nights, and there was no cleaning or fresh towels during that time.

I stayed at a small chalet that lacked a kettle and tea or coffee; the breakfast was disorganized and very sparse, more suited to a Thai holiday, but since the island is quaint and relaxed, it wasn’t a big deal. The staff drove us to a restaurant and then brought us back, never asking for payment, and I tipped him 100 baht. It was a real culture shock, far different from Pattaya, yet still very charming.
