“Its budget at a premium price, if you pay an extra $100 au a night elsewhere you will be delighted.”
The place is in a decent spot if you can get your own transport; it’s close to a bus stop, but after two days of fighting crowded buses and confusion we decided to rent a car. The staff were friendly and helpful, and other guests had a good vibe. I knew this was budget accommodation, so my expectations were low, but as soon as I entered I caught a strange smell—first I thought it was chlorine from the old pool, but it felt more like mold from a place that was locked up over summer. The room wasn’t cleaned properly, the mattress didn’t match the bed frame, and the breakfast was basic, as expected, but I was shocked to see two $10.00 toasters that barely worked and were supposed to serve all guests; there were no new sheets or towels, so I had to bring my own. I stayed for 10 days. If you like gambling, I’d suggest dropping $40.00 AUD into the clothes dryers for a damp return. It’s a shame—if the management spent a little more money on the place, it could be so much better.
