The hotel was super nice and stylish, evoking a Wes Anderson Belle Époque vibe; the spa was a Japanese onsen with brutalist touches that I really enjoyed. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all good and could be eaten in a cozy setting. We also did yoga, which was complimentary and the instructor was very friendly. I can only recommend it; if you’re a fan of Monocle and AD, this is the place to go. They offered a free pick‑up from the train station, and the experience from start to finish was really nice. The only downside was that because the hotel was quite busy, we sometimes had to wait a bit longer for the pick‑up and check‑in, but everything else was super amazing and the staff were helpful and nice.

The hotel was incredible, with beautiful modern rooms and a lovely spa area. We chose it for our last night in Switzerland after a few days of skydiving, hiking, and via ferrata, so relaxing in the spa was something we really looked forward to. We even made the trip to Wengen from Lauterbrunnen just for this hotel, and it did not disappoint. The only issue was that room service only offered snacks; we arrived late at night, the restaurant was already closed, and they suggested room service, but the menu only included cheeses.

The location was excellent and the bed and pillows were very comfortable, but we were put in a small room in an outbuilding, a long uphill walk and many steps from the main building. The room was dirty—stained carpet, animal or human hair all over the loveseat, an absolutely filthy, mildewy shower curtain (a 5‑star hotel should never have a shower curtain, but at least it should be clean), and when we put our wet bath towels on the floor expecting them to be replaced with clean ones, they simply folded the wet towels from the floor and hung them back on the rack. Again, not what you would expect from a 5‑star hotel. Staff were disinterested at times, rude or condescending at other times. Not worth the $800 (before tax) we paid per night.
