How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
I arrived to find a loud party where we were supposed to set up our tent, with music blaring and people moving around. Once the noise faded, we discovered our bedding and towels had already been used by strangers. We were then relocated to a filthy cottage that smelled of dead insects and had bed bugs—an absolute nightmare. I asked for a refund after having to find another place, but the staff were silent. Completely appalling.

The setting is surrounded by breathtaking nature, the house and grounds (three hillside pools) are cool, the staff are very friendly, and the ten dogs are adorable. But the place is a joke: no tents, just a bed and mattress with a tent roof over it and three mattresses side by side under a pavilion. The mattresses are sagging, there's no fridge, no storage or changing area, and the shower and toilet are 40 m away. Camping and the next unknown are less than 2 m behind two tarps and snoring. The pools are unheated unless you pay 900 Rand; if someone else pays, they get exclusive use and you lose one pool. Worst of all, the more than 10 km uphill track requires a 4‑wheel drive—too hard even for our Amarok. And the 275 Rand breakfast is a waste. If you follow the uphill track back to the N2, you reach a small café/Breakfast Tsitsikamma Garden in two minutes. MEGA! A real hidden gem, delicious.

The kitchen staff and food were great, and the view was beautiful. However, we were told to pay extra for a heated pool, and the owner and his staff behaved unprofessionally, forcing us to leave two days early. We didn’t get the day’s expenses back, but were told they didn’t charge us for the one day the hot pool didn’t heat up and for the following days’ hot pool that the owner and his staff used.
