“Disappointing”
I wouldn’t recommend this place. The front desk staff member was really good. The room was nice. The private onsen was quite good. The food and service were BAD. The dinner experience was extremely poor. The service was inexcusable – incredibly rude to the point of uncomfortable and the food was objectively bad. Our grill didn’t work and the waitress just shrugged. It’s just not what you expect for the price. Bad food. Bad service. Wouldn’t recommend.
“Une belle expérience en pleine nature”
The room with the outdoor bathtub overlooking the mountains was amazing, as were the two private onsens on the roof. The evening meal was of high quality in an intimate setting, which we greatly enjoyed. The location is quite remote but easily accessible by bus, which drops you right in front of the hotel. There isn’t much around, which for us added to the charm of the place! We would have liked more choice for breakfast, but perhaps we just didn’t fully appreciate the traditional Japanese breakfast. The lady who served us in the restaurant in the evening and the morning was rather cold and brisk. She only said 2‑3 words about a few dishes, without a smile. Given the place, we had hoped for warmer service.
“Rauhallinen ja rentouttava paikka loman keskellä, erinomaisella vieraanvaraisuudella!”
Vastaanottovirkailija oli äärimmäisen avulias ja antoi hyviä ohjeita lähiseudulle.
“Genieten.”
We were greeted very warmly, thank you. They immediately showed us around the neighborhood. The room was spacious, with every amenity you could wish for. The color scheme in the building was beautiful. It was a very atmospheric place. The food was delicious and also nutritious.
“Would have loved to stay longer”
The ryokan is conveniently located next to a bus stop, very private and comfortable. We stayed in a room with an open‑air bath that offered a great view of the river and mountains, and it was also nice to have the option to use the open‑air bath on the roof. The room was clean and comfortable, and the dinner and breakfast were delicious. They also accommodated my wife’s allergy to shrimp, which was really appreciated. We planned to stay just one night but discovered a few interesting places we would have loved to visit, like the Hida Limestone Cavern or the Shinhotaka ropeway. We will definitely return to check those off our to‑do list next time.
