Everything impressed me, from Robert and Roxana’s warm welcome to the tasty breakfast Robert whipped up each morning, and the quiet location just steps from Lower Bay.

The Sweet Retreat in Bequia was the highlight of my trip; waking up to a panoramic view of the bay and nearby islands turns breakfast into a world‑class experience. The food is exceptional, with fresh local fruits, artisanal bread from a local bakery, and a daily fresh‑baked cake that Robert masterfully prepares—one or two slices are the perfect start to the day. Hospitality truly sets the place apart; the storytelling adds charm and deep insights into the island’s history and culture that you won’t find in a guidebook. If you want scenery, local flavor, and warmth, this is the spot. The island’s terrain isn’t flat, so you’ll get steps in while exploring; bring comfortable walking shoes to fully enjoy the hills’ incredible viewpoints.

The location is great, and the welcoming staff are helpful, with the beach and local restaurants nearby.

The location is exceptional with a beautiful view of the bay, and Lower Bay Beach is a quick walk away for relaxing or snorkeling on the small reef. The owner is extremely helpful and can arrange any activities or transportation you need during your stay. The walk up from the beach is steep but short.

Robert is the best host, giving us great advice and being generous and wonderful; if you want something special on your trip he knows where to get it. Chiara is the best breakfast companion, and Roxanne is a ray of sunshine that works magic with making sand disappear. We absolutely loved our stay and were very happy there. And, yes, it is a hilly island and you do have to get vertical a bit and then you are rewarded with great views!
