The apartment’s generous size felt like a real luxury in Tokyo, especially compared to the usual compact hotel rooms in Japan. It was comfortable, homely, and the kitchen and washing machine were very handy. Coupled with the excellent location, it made a great base for exploring Tokyo, and we’d happily come back.

The location is perfect! You can shop in Shimokitazawa, drop off your stuff at the hotel, and then head out again. The room’s furnishings and décor are very satisfying, and it even has a washing machine. The toiletries include a facial cleanser and lotion, which is unusual. The vinyl record player is the highlight, giving off a true Shimokitazawa vibe. The corridor and door soundproofing are poor; you can hear neighbors in the hallway, and if someone is in the hallway, you can hear them very clearly in the room.
