“The establishment met our needs.”
The breakfast options were good. The food was hot and tasty, and it was freshly cooked. The shower was quite large with plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable and let me sleep well. The teapot could have been bigger, since I usually have several cups of tea in the morning. It was hard to find because the sign had been blown over by the wind and not replaced. Because the room is on a main road, it was quite noisy at times.

The location was fine, but we only stayed one night and paid £130, expecting a decent level of luxury and basic facilities; instead the chalet felt very basic, dated, and tired, and the toilet was a major issue—each flush raised the water level almost to the brim, and it required multiple flushes just to get toilet paper to go down, a problem also noted by a 2024 review, so the August 2026 experience was especially disappointing. The chalet did its job for one night, but overall the condition and standard did not justify the £130 we paid.
