The place was pleasant enough, and they even took the trouble of booking a restaurant reservation for me. Nothing else to complain about.
“Die Ferientage im Schloss Denens waren herrlich erholsam - wir kommen gern wieder!”
We loved the fantastic location with its sweeping view over the countryside and the lake, and every interaction with the owners felt relaxed and chatty. They gave us solid tips for day trips and answered all our questions about the massive estate’s history and the region. Everything felt natural and unpretentious – the house oozes history and is packed with stories waiting to be told.
“Very disappointing”
The spot was great – the view and location were lovely, and the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. But when we got there the building looked like a junkyard and the hosts weren't very welcoming. Overall, a mixed experience.
“Séjour très agréable. Hôtes très accueillants. Je recommande vivement!”
Warm welcome and super friendly hosts. After a long, hectic day they offered to secure a table at the nearest restaurant – it’s just a few dozen metres from the castle. The room was spacious, cosy and had a lovely bathroom, and the quiet surroundings felt really refreshing, plus it’s only a short drive from Lausanne.
“Toll”
Perfect for couples or anyone after some peace – it’s not a cookie‑cutter hotel but an old‑world castle filled with art, a quirky collection and great views over a park of ancient trees. The hosts are easygoing and even offer their own wine, while the guest area is lovingly arranged with a top‑notch bathroom that has two entrances. Breakfast is a French‑style affair served right at the host’s table, and there’s a video that shows the place nicely.
