“The Dog and Gun”
A charming traditional British pub with a roaring fire. Pros – great atmosphere, clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and the best pie in a pub! Cons – located by a noisy road, but ear‑plugs are supplied and the bed is very comfortable. A service charge is automatically added to your evening meal, making dinner pricey, yet the food is tasty with generous portions. The car park is small; if you miss a spot on arrival you can move your car later after the locals leave. We appreciated the free postcard from staff as a quirky touch, but unfortunately my friend never received ours – a real pity! Overall we enjoyed the stay and would definitely return, which says it all.
