The place was great, breakfast was good, the room was clean, and the facilities were solid. I would have liked a better view from the window.

The town was stunning to stay in, the hotel itself was historic yet modern, and we felt like we were experiencing a traditional, authentic vibe. We enjoyed the traditional dinner and breakfast, and the onsen was a cool experience too.

This traditional Japanese hotel sits in beautiful Kusatsu-onsen. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff service is unparalleled. The onsen is clean and pleasant, with both indoor and outdoor sections. Every morning there’s a delicious Japanese breakfast, and the beauty of Kusatsu is another story. We’ll return! No negatives.

We stayed in the separate rooms with a bath included. It was a good location and very functional, but too modern. We expected a typical Japanese-style room with tatami and futons. That was a disappointment. See above
