This spot is a hidden gem—quiet, leafy, with old‑school charm and giant turtles. The library and free laundry are great, and the food cooked by Eddie and Joseph is amazing. You’ll be glad you came.
“Unique stay for our final night in Arusha”
This is a unique property unlike any other. It is cozy and quaint with a colonial feel. Perfect for our post safari final night stay in Arusha before our 3 generation family flew back home. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner for a reasonable price followed by a sumptuous breakfast the next morning. The owners and staff at the property are welcoming and gracious. Nothing
“Comfortable, spacious and packed with history. Staff makes you feel at home immediately.”
The history of the house and stories about 2 entrepeneurial ladies who were well ahead of their time by setting up an internet cafe in the 90s, the first of Arusha! And then all those famous researchers who have stayed there through the years. Comfortable room, sparkle clean ensuite bathroom, history packed living room, nice garden. Eddie has perfected the art of cooking - his breakfasts and dinners were mouthwatering!. The last part of the road is not great and quite rocky, but that is only 1.4 kms
“Felt like a home :)”
It felt like home! The cute setup, friendly and lovely staff, and personal touch made the stay special. Nothing else to note.
The place is a beautiful old house that makes you feel the comfort of Africa, and it's a hidden gem in Arusha—just stay here. The original owner has passed, but the black staff keep running the business and they're awesome. When I first got there I didn’t realize how third‑world and trashy Arusha neighborhoods could be, and I almost left, but a seasoned guest told me, “Whatever you do, don’t leave here,” and he was right. The locals in the area are friendly and helpful, the neighborhood is quiet, the rooms are comfortable, and you’ll appreciate this experience more than the forgettable big‑brand hotels you’ll forget in a week. Stay here.
