The outdoor bathtub attached to the room was wonderful and the breakfast was extremely tasty, yet the fridge was soggy inside and even the lower compartment was dripping, probably from melted frost, and although the listing promised a Fuji view, being on the first floor of the two‑storey building meant the trees blocked any sight even on a clear day.

The room was spotless, although I did see a cockroach and some insects, and from the window I could watch a family of deer while the onsen was superb; however, at check‑in I was told I could save 1,000 yen by skipping housekeeping and I agreed, only to learn at checkout that the discount didn’t apply to prepaid stays, which left a sour taste after a busy training session with many participants and no visible supervisor.

“Bel établissement dans un cadre magnifique au milieu de la forêt”

The room was lovely though a bit cramped for a family of four, and the highlight was the terrace overlooking the forest with a bathtub right on it; the surroundings were stunning—forest, golf course, and on clear days you could spot Mount Fuji—and the place was very quiet, yet it sits far from anything, so you really need a car to reach the peninsula’s attractions.

“An awesome nature retreat with fantastic room layouts and a wonderful private onsen”

The location and vibe are awesome, right in the middle of nature— we hoped to see Mt. Fuji, but it stayed hidden in the clouds! Even without the view, it was amazing. The room layouts are just fantastic, the private onsen was wonderful, and the staff were lovely. Breakfast could have had a slightly nicer selection and better organization, but overall it was good enough. The shared facilities seem to be from a different era and are a little outdated—though the architecture is amazing and everything is clean. For people like me who love last‑century brutalist vibes combined with nature, it’s still a fascinating visual experience—there is so much potential in those buildings, I hope they will get a facelift soon.

“Déception”

Set in the countryside with an expected view of Fuji that never materialised during our visit, the hotel was easy to reach thanks to a parking lot right across the road; nevertheless, the resort‑style layout spread over several buildings near the golf course makes a car essential, and we were disappointed with the Japanese‑style room that had a futon in the living area for our daughter, no proper seating except floor cushions, two regular beds in a tiny space without an external window, a balcony whose rail blocked the Fuji view, and an onsen‑style bathtub that was partly hidden by a pillar, leaving us feeling cramped and uncomfortable despite the large overall size.
