“Epic location and great coffee shop”
I stayed solo and found the place spot‑on: spotless, cozy, and within walking distance of everything, plus it’s linked to the top coffee shop in Hiriketiya.

Malkoha blew me away—beautiful spot, rooms perfect for a short stay, the indoor/outdoor vibe is super cool, the café is amazing (best coffee on the trip) and the food is next‑level; everything’s walkable and you’re literally on the beach.

The hostel was clean, stylish, and close to Hiri beach and across from Dickwella beach, giving it an awesome vibe; next time I’ll grab a private room. But lizards were everywhere—in rooms and showers—so scary, and one night I saw a snake crossing the road from the hostel area; the open‑to‑sky rooms made it hard to sleep.

The place is clean, stylish, and cheap for a single room. Because of the open layout, mosquitoes keep you in bed; we had a mini‑line in the room, no shared spaces, so it’s more for people who don’t need a hostel; the open concept lets you hear everything from the neighbors.

The open‑roof single bed room felt fresh and well‑designed; the beach‑side location is gorgeous, mosquito net, mirror, and small closet keep food and gear safe (no monkeys spotted). Food, coffee, and staff at the enclosed café were excellent, and a few restaurants are just a few minutes’ walk down the main street. Communication via email/WhatsApp was smooth, and night security made me feel safe. The only downside was cold showers, neighbors’ noise (earplugs help), no indoor common space after the café closes at 4 pm (you can sit on the terrace), and the wooden doors and closet are a bit hard to lock.
