Power outage meant no breakfast, no toaster, no tea – a real hassle when you’re heading out on a long trip. On top of that the room heater cut out early in the morning, and with the outside chill at 1 °C it was a big deal.

The staff were welcoming and let us grab toast, cereal, coffee and tea whenever we wanted. The pub meals were fantastic. The only gripe: the bathroom windows were frosted but still let in light; a curtain would have made it more private.

Loved the vintage vibe, the food was top‑notch and the staff were super friendly. The room turned out bigger than the photos suggested, which was a pleasant surprise. The only downside was the noise; the walls didn’t keep out sounds unless the other guests were quiet.

Stunning historic hotel with a lovely setting – my kid loved the swing and we had a blast on the pool table. The locals and staff were very helpful, the bed was comfy, and the heater kept us warm even when it was 0 °C outside. Dinner was amazing, especially the veggies – the chef really knows his stuff. The only minor annoyance was the shared bathroom, but the cozy bedroom made it a non‑issue.
